365 Clouds in 2014

Irina Trzaskos in Coventry, Connecticut is creating 365 Clouds in 2014...

Why did you decide to do this project? I picked this topic because it is so ethereal, and I am often with my head in clouds. I hope it will be noticed and will bring joy not just to me.

How has doing a yearlong/daily project affected your life? I just started, and I hope it will help me to develop my drawing skills and imagination, and will keep me more organized.

Operation 365 Needs Your Help!

The creator of one of my favorite 365 projects has returned with a great new yearlong interview project and he needs your help to make it a reality....

Announcing The Rebirth Of A Daily Blog

You may have been with Radstone when he undertook his daily blog in 2011: The birthplace of his mission to build a global community and the whole reason the resulting Operation-365 exists, a project that he has promised to not stray away from. It is in that spirit we are invited to join together in his second one-year outreach: O-365, a stranger meeting blogumentary.

For 365 consecutive days (beginning in February), Richard will be roaming the streets again, this time video interviewing absolute strangers, and just as he did during the Radstone blog (now archived as “Project-365″), he will every day post an episode of the experience and what the strangers he meets have to say.

It’s an ambitious undertaking, putting a strain not only on his family time, but also on his pocketbook. So he has decided to post an Indiegogo crowdsource in taking a little edge of the start up costs. From the date of this posting, we have 10 horus left to help him raise his campaign goal of $2,400. He has already raised $1,000, and if he exceeds his goal, will use the additional funding to further promote and grow the ongoing mission of Operation-365.

I’m reaching out to you, my Operation-365 friends in asking for a little Ambassadorship. There are several ways you can build our community and take part in starting O-365. First by simply seeing and being good to the world around you; Secondly, follow, subscribe to, comment on, contributing to, and refer all you can to Operation-365.org (the higher our traffic the better our viral ranking and the farther our reach); and thirdly, through referring and supporting O-365 blogumentary at Indiegogo. It’s not just about dollars… the more clicks we receive the higher the Indiegogo exposure, but please pledge if you can.

Thanks for who you are and all that you do. I look forward to doing my part in reaching out to provide you fresh content and stories for your consideration.

Wishing you the greatest of life’s blessings.

Mother & Daughter 365 Project

Mother Heidi Cogdill and daughter Bree Cogdill (13 yrs old) in Gilbert, Arizona are creating side-by-side daily projects: Caputre the Pose (Heidi) & A Girls Sketchbook  (Bree)

Why did you decide to do this project? My daughter and I wanted to do a 365 project after reading your book. Since we're both lovers of art and fashion we decided to each create a daily sketch, using any medium we wanted, and to share on our separate blogs. We chose not to share our daily projects with each other so that we could be surprised when we visited each others sites.

How has doing a yearlong/daily project affected your life? My goal was to master watercolor since it's something I've always loved but struggled with. I figured a daily practice would force me to work through my frustrations. I've grown in my confidence and my ability in the short time I've been doing it. For my daughter she wanted a project that would force her to break outside her comfort zone and to try out new mediums. Her dream is to be an artist but her interests change a lot, so she hoped this would allow her to the time to figure out where she wanted to focus her talents.

The best part has been seeing my daughter grow. I love to visit her site each morning...I'm surprised over and over again my her imagination and how freely she creates. She inspires me to be better and to go after my dreams. I can't imagine doing this project without her.

365 Days of Sock Monkeys

Kim Barrows in Jacksonville, Florida created 365 Days of Sock Monkeys!

Why did you decide to do this project? It seemed like an interesting way to commit to doing something creative EVERY day.

How has doing a yearlong/daily project affected your life?  I have to admit it was challenging to attempt to be clever on days where things weren't going so well....  I had a friend in Intensive Care early in the year but monkey came to the hospital anyway.  I also "met" some neat people through my instagram feed and now follow their creative endeavors.  Most of all, I realized that I do have that level of commitment that I would have never thought possible when I started this.  Now friends are trying to talk me into "720 Days" - can't someone give the little guy a break??

1000 Pieces of Free Art Update

Noah Zark in Israel recently completed his project to create 1000 pieces of free art in 2013!

Why did you decide to do this project? I decided to do the project for a few reasons but more than anything I just wanted to share the feeling of finding art out on the street that you can take home. I first experienced that at a "My Dog Sighs" show after finding 2 of his pieces in the street after the gallery show.

How has doing a yearlong/daily project affected your life? I have learned what my limits are and I pushed passed them in several ways. I learned many new techniques and was flooded with ideas. It forced me to be productive in my art when normally I can get sidetracked with the minutia of every day life.

Now what? As far as what comes next I cannot get into the specifics of it but I will be doing another free art project. It is not a year long and there is no set number but as of right now I am thinking of doing 3-4 unique spots worldwide to do a mass free art drop.  I am also attempting to break out of my box a bit and do some more 3D work and more glass work in 2014.

365 Missional Practice

Trish Hernandez in Woodbridge, Virginia recently completed her yearlong project 365MissionalPractice...

Why did you decide to do this project?  I am passionate about spiritual formation, missional practice, and creativity.  I decided last December this would be my "stretch me" project for this year and combined all three passions as my daily devotional experience.  Sharing it in a blog helped with my personal accountability, but also helped the congregation that I pastor, and others, to join me in the experience.

How has doing a yearlong/daily project affected your life? Wow... Doing a project a day has stretched me to be more disciplined and consistent in many areas of my life.  Matching up the suggested project with a "hands on" spiritual formation moment took me deeper into my relationship with God and my faith community and helped me to focus on the needs of my neighborhood and the world and to inspire others to do the same.  Taking time out of a busy schedule each day has helped me to focus more on what matters most.  Using the 365 Journal challenged me to try some creative projects that I might not have ever considered, such as quilling, thinking microscopically, and using a variety of materials in recycling projects.

I'm already planning the next steps of the creative journey in the world of spiritual formation.
